ME BEFORE YOU: AN INFOMERCIAL FOR ASSISTED SUICIDE

Dodge this romantic drama with a depressing pay-off.

SPIKED

Why do we celebrate (and in some places, actively assist) what can only rationally be regarded as a self-centred and cowardly decision to destroy oneself?

The film Me Before You, released last Friday, would have been a fairly standard romantic weepie, except for — SPOILER ALERT — its inclusion of suicide. Will Traynor, a ridiculously rich, successful and stupidly handsome fellow, has an accident that renders him quadriplegic. His mother hires a companion — an annoyingly ditzy, wacky with a capital W, working-class girl, for whom Will would ordinarily be strictly out of bounds — who manages to cheer Will up and, lo, they fall in love. Then Will kills himself. At a Dignitas clinic. Because apparently he is a determined guy. He leaves her some money.

At one level, of course, the film is artistic expression (I use the word artistic loosely), absolutely free to say whatever it wants. Yet the film is not only bad art; it’s also propaganda for the so-called right to die. The author of the novel on which the film is based (and the script), Jo Jo Moyes, continues to protest that it is only about an individual, and that it is not ‘by any means’ sending out a message. But, in the same breath, she insists that ‘unless you put yourself in somebody’s shoes, I think you shouldn’t judge their action’, and says this is about ‘autonomy and choice’.

The sophomoric presentation of the issue at the heart of the film might have been lifted from a GCSE Ethics and Philosophy textbook on the case for the right to die. The family is upset about Will’s decision. Mother tearfully resists and tells him to wait; father is grimly resigned because it’s Will’s decision and he must be able to make it. Girlfriend tearfully upset but finally accepting. All accept his decision and are at Will’s deathbed at Dignitas’s beautiful Swiss chalet (in reality, it is a grim house in a Swiss industrial park).

The protests by disabled people outside cinemas showing Me Before You are completely understandable. Will’s rejection of his life, his refusal to live hampered by disability, is a direct insult to those who do so every day. The film presents Will as determined and courageous, belying the fact that disabled people struggle and suffer with lives beset by disabilities, choosing to live. Which is more courageous — to die, to be defeated by one’s disabilities, to bail out; or to continue suffering and battling past whatever barriers are put in the way, to continue to live?

No one seems to know any more. This is why this same plotline features in so many TV and filmic dramas. Real suicides are usually tragic, often sordid and always awful. But suicide as a plot device allows the author to weigh the value of continued existence against the ends that the character killing him or herself seeks.

What is weighed up in these modern dramas about assisted suicide? On one scale, Will’s life is mere existence, increasingly meaningless, adrift, dependent on others, helpless, pointless, isolated, and devoid of any pleasure. On the other scale are the last vestiges of his social existence, his being as a son, lover, and friend. Me Before You is the opposite of life-affirming; it reassures the audience that giving up is okay. It’s the equivalent of George Bailey jumping into the icy waters and everyone standing around saying ‘Yeah, nice one, mate’, somewhat changing the end of It’s a Wonderful Life.

Such a view perverts the relationship between the individual and his community and indicates the erosion of a general moral sense of right and wrong. Paradoxically, suicide must be an option if a community is to be made up of free individuals, but the community has an interest in preventing the purposeful destruction of any of its members, no matter that the killer and victim are one and the same. Contra Moyes’ sentiments, we must judge whether the taking of a life is understandable in the circumstances, whether it is praiseworthy or blameworthy. But it is a good general rule that killing — even oneself — is wrong.

These dramas highlight the fact that no one seems sure that human existence is worth it. Few seem confident enough to assert moral rules; there is no more right and wrong, only ‘right for you’ and ‘right for me’.

In the end, films like this tap into the anxiety and uncertainty that many feel about the future. What if I was paralysed? Would I want to die? Moyes mentioned that she was inspired to write the book after hearing about the case of Daniel James, the paralysed rugby player who killed himself at Dignitas a few years ago.

More inspiring but less well-known is the example of Matt Hampson, who was paralysed from the neck down 11 years ago. He told his father that the injury would make him a better person. Matt didn’t believe that himself at first, but said last year that he is beginning to believe it after launching the Matt Hampson Foundation, which helps people with life-altering injuries.

Instead of paying money to see a mediocre infomercial for the right to die, why not donate that money to the Matt Hampson Foundation instead?

EU Report: ISIS Could Commit Chemical or Biological Terror Attack in West

Terrorist group already has foreign fighters on its payroll who can manufacture lethal weapons from raw materials, as well as access to toxic agents left behind by the tyrants of Syria, Iraq and Libya.

Could Islamic State carry out chemical or biological terrorism in Europe? Yes, and it might, warns a briefing to the European Parliament published this week, saying that the radical Islamic group has money; scientists – some of foreign origin – on the payroll; found an abundance of deadly toxins stockpiled by the tyrants of Syria, Iraq and Libya; and could make more of its own quite easily.

"European citizens are not seriously contemplating the possibility that extremist groups might use chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear materials during attacks in Europe," writes analyst Beatriz Immenkamp in the briefing. They should.

It wouldn't be a big leap. ISIS has used mustard and chlorine gases in Iraq and Syria. And a laptop belonging to a Tunisian physicist who joined ISIS was found to contain a paper on weaponizing bubonic plague bacteria obtained from animals. The intent is there: the governments of Belgium and France are already working on contingency plans.

Moreover, it would be fairly simple for ISIS sympathizers to obtain the materials for chemical and biological attacks in Europe itself, the report says. The continent is brimming with them and security is inadequate.

Israeli experts add that the group could make deadly chemicals of its own, and could be already developing the capacity to weaponize them.

At least some chemical weapons, whether gaseous, liquid or solid, are fairly trivial to make. To attack the Kurds, for example, says the EU report, it appears that ISIS simply repurposed fertilizer.

Making – or obtaining – the chemical is the first stage. The second is weaponizing it. Can ISIS make its own chemical weapons?

ISIS may have manufactured crude shells containing toxic chemicals, the EU report says. "[Weaponization] can be done crudely by putting the substance into shells and firing those shells," says Dany Shoham, a specialist in unconventional weapons from the Begin Sadat Center of Strategic Studies at Bar Ilan University.

Indeed, ISIS' use of chemical weapons has been crude so far, but the group could become more sophisticated in their weaponization in the future, he suggests.

Alternatively, ISIS could capture already weaponized chemicals. It is probable that ISIS has deployed both weapons it made itself and weapons it captured, says Shoham.

As for resources: In June 2014, ISIS seized control of Muthanna, Iraq, once the Saddam Hussein regime's primary chemical-weapons production facility. American troops were supposed to have destroyed weapons there after the 2003 invasion of Iraq, but officials admitted when ISIS conquered the city that a stockpile of weapons still existed. They claimed the remaining chemical weapons had no military value. The following month, ISIS launched its first chemical attack on the Kurds in Kobani, Syria, using mustard gas, an agent that is known to have been made at Muthanna.

ISIS may also have access to weapons containing sarin nerve gas that remained in Syria, the EU report notes, as well as mustard agents and nerve agent rockets from Iraq, and chemical materials leftover from Libya programs.

It is unclear how effective these agents would be after years of storage, qualifies Ely Karmon, a specialist in terrorism and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya. But they might still be usable.

In addition, ISIS has a lot of scientific talent on board, including some inherited from the Hussein regime, says Karmon. For instance, until his death in a coalition strike in January, ISIS had Hussein's chemical warfare expert Salih Jasim Muhammed Falah al-Sabawi, aka Abu Malik, on the payroll. The United States said Abu Malik provided ISIS with "expertise to pursue a chemical weapons capability."

Possessing chemical weapons does not necessarily mean the group can use them beyond the borders of Syria and Iraq. "Transferring chemical weapons to Europe would be difficult," says Karmon. Weaponizing chemicals within the borders of Europe would also be difficult, adds Shoham, given the likelihood of being detected by security agencies.

However, Shoham and Karmon agree that ISIS could use toxic chemicals in Europe, relatively easily, in an unweaponized form – the impact of such an attack could be devastating, notes Shoham.

Alternatively, ISIS could attack a chemical facility with conventional weapons, similar to Yassin Salhi's failed attempt to strike the Air Products chemical factory near Lyon, France, notes Karmon.

Weaponizing germs

Biological weapons – germs – are a different story. The science of bio-weaponry has come far since the millennia of yore, when besiegers might toss a disease-riddled corpse over the town walls to terrify and infect the people inside. Today's nightmare scenarios include, for example, weaponized ebola virus that can infect through the air, rather than requiring physical proximity to infected mucous membranes, or anthrax engineered to be even deadlier than the original bacterium.

How easy is it for ISIS to procure or make biological weapons? And if they had them, would they be likely they use them?

Obtaining the bugs at the base of biological weapons wouldn't be a big problem, surmises Shoham. Suitable pathogens are readily available at academic laboratories, vaccine factories and pharmaceutical companies, all of which are civilian facilities. Even if few such institutions still exist in the ISIS territories, the group might try to get bacteria from sympathizers in Europe or the United States, Shoham says.

But for all that telltale laptop of the Tunisian physicist, ISIS would have difficulty weaponizing them, Shoham thinks – yet adds that biological terrorism can also be carried out without weaponization. For example, by releasing a pathogen into a water system.

So ISIS could get the bugs and might be able to weaponize them, or could use them as is. But would the group resort to bio-war?

Working with biological agents is very risky for the handler, Shoham says, but adds: "I don't think this factor would constitute a bottleneck for a radical organization like ISIS."

The obstacle most likely to deter ISIS from deploying biological weapons isn't the risk of some lab technician falling ill. It's their inability to control its spread, says Karmon.

Unlike chemical and radiological weapons, one cannot target a defined set of victims with biological agents because they are contagious, he explains. Anybody using a bio-weapon runs the risk of infecting their own population. That in itself is a powerful deterrent.

Europe, given the ability of bacteria to travel on planes, is anybody's guess.

Impact: The cost of war

Chemical and biological terrorism would probably cause significantly more damage than conventional terrorism, Shoham and Karmon agree.

Even in a best-case scenario, for instance that an infectious agent is detected in the water system before anyone drinks or bathes in it, just cleaning the contaminant from the water system would be very difficult, Shoham says. The EU report notes that in anticipation of this very sort of thing, Paris has stepped up security at its water facilities.

What can the West do to frustrate this threat?

It could try to limit ISIS' access to certain civilian and military installations in Syria and Iraq, says Shoham. Yet, doing this without ground forces may prove difficult.

Might the threat of a massive counter-attack by the West serve as a significant deterrent? Probably not, says Shoham.

Europe can screen travelers entering the continent, says Shoham, although this is unlikely to serve as a rigorous enough preventative measure. The EU report itself suggests monitoring returning fighters and radicals in the European Union, especially any known to have "CBRN knowledge."

Aside from that, the report suggests that European nations improve preparedness, for instance by equipping rescue forces with antidotes. Europe can also increase security at key installations, which Paris for one is already doing. And, in addition, European countries can start preparing, and drilling, their populations.

During the first Gulf War, the Israeli government began handing out gas masks to the general population. They aren't effective against all forms of chemical attack, let alone biological. A full-body suit is better. But gas masks, used properly, are a good start.

3 Simple Ways to Tighten your Vagina and Keep it Tight

Vagina tightening. We know – it’s uncomfortable, awkward and sometimes downright humiliating to talk about – however – this is actually a big problem for tons of women!

This sexual health issue causes insecurity, damages your confidence, and can make you feel like crap. And when it comes to pleasing your partner in the bedroom – while this stuff shouldn’t matter – the issue can make you feel like you’re not performing under the sheets.

How sexy and confident you feel plays a huge part in your relationship, and keeping things tight can really help you get your sexy back in the bedroom. If you’re like lot’s of women, you’re looking for ways on how to tighten your vagina – or are scouring the web for vagina tightening solutions like V Tight Gel, which was rated the best vaginal tightening cream in 2017.

But with all the scammy products and multitude of options, choosing the right product for YOUR body can seem overwhelming. Don’t worry. We’re here to help. After tons of research, I’ve put together the 3 most effective ways you can tighten your vagina fast.

After I had my very first child, I felt like things just weren’t the same in the bedroom, and I didn’t enjoy sex as much as I used to. As a matter of fact, to place it bluntly (let’s get real ladies), I felt like I had a flappy pussy.

I wanted to find a solution to tighten my vagina walls, and I was willing to try anything. I looked everywhere, trialled and tested a lot of products, home remedies and herbs, as well as different exercises.

During that time I learned what works, and what is a waste of time. So while it’s a little humiliating and embarrassing, I’d like to share what I found that helped tighten my vag.

Now – contradictory to popular opinion, a loose or flappy vagina does NOT come from too much sexual intercourse (or the size of your partner’s penis… although of course your man would love to THINK he’s too big for you and stretches you out) A loose vagina can be triggered by numerous reasons, such as childbirth, menopause, or simply because our bodies are aging.

shocked woman

Remember, having less sex will not keep your vagina tighter. The reasons the vagina gets loose is due to the natural stretching and tearing of the muscles on the vaginal walls when you give birth or get older. As with every other part of our body, the vagina has muscles that contract and relax. But when we grow older, or the vagina goes through the trauma of childbirth, then the natural elasticity is reduced.

The muscle tissue of the vulva, which is tightly folded, is naturally elastic – just like your mouth! If you pull the corners of your mouth towards your ears in a smile, and let go, they will go back to their original shape. This can be done countless times without any change as to how your mouth looks.

The vagina works in a similar way. It is normally in a rested state and changed only for two reasons.

Sex

Childbirth

Stress ‘down there’ makes a cervix contract and become tighter, which is why some young girls find it hard to insert tampons. However, after childbirth the muscle tissues tear, and if not taken care of, will lose a lot of their elasticity. They will not be able to contract as tightly, or be as flexible as they used to.

This process is totally natural – BUT – there are ways to get back the tightness without having to go through the rest of your life feeling loose. A lot of women opt for vaginoplasty surgery, which is a cosmetic surgery used to tighten the vaginal walls. This option can have health risks, and is also very expensive. There are many natural ways to get back the tightness of your vag without having to resort to vaginoplasty if you don’t want to.

If you’re looking for female genital tightening techniques when looking for ways on how to make you tighter, you’ve probably seen a lot of crazy solutions out there. You may have heard of kegel exercises, other vigina creams and lotions, or even workout and diet programs which are designed to tighten up a loose vulva.

These methods are all effective in reducing vaginal looseness. Some, of course, work better and faster than others. Diets and exercises designed for this specific purpose have long-lasting effects, but may take a long time to achieve results. If you’re patient, and consistent with the treatment, they will work over time. If you want to get a tighter vagina quickly – The fastest way by far is to use a tightening creams which has immediate effects.

Believe it or not, this is a really common issue – and pussy looseness is more typical than you’d assume! While it’s easy to get embarrassed about this kind of stuff – you need to understand that it’s totally natural. Although, that doesn’t mean you’re stuck with what nature gave you. If you’re on this page then you’re probably having some issues concerning looseness. Hey! Maybe you’re even a dude looking to help out a female friend or partner. There are tons of natural techniques to make your vag tighter. Some work better than others.

I have actually tried all of the most common natural vagina tightening techniques: workouts, herbal treatments, and also natural vaginal shrinking creams. Here’s what worked for me, as well as what was a total waste of time.

I have actually ranked my choice for vaginal tightening up from least reliable to most reliable I did this because I wish that I had this kind of information before – and I hope it will help women choose the best option for them.

These natural remedies and programs have been tested and proven by countless women from all over the world. And with these 3 tips, I hope women find the answers and solutions that they need in order to have a better overall sex life.

# 3– Organic Therapies to tighten up a stretched vaginal area.

There are numerous herbs that can aid to tighten up your hoo-haa muscles.

— Pueraria Mirifica works to tighten your vag wall surfaces by encouraging genital tissue regrowth, This natural herb also stabilizes estrogen levels and neutralizes your hormone imbalances. Added Benefit: this herb also helps shield against uterus cancer cells.

Benefit: this herb additionally helps shield against uterus cancer cells.

— Curcuma Comosa. This herb tightens up vaginal muscle mass, and helps remedy future looseness by shielding against vaginal wall surface prolapse. Curcuma Comosa also aids and treats dry skin, and hot flashes. Added bonus: this herb also minimizes menstrual cramps.

— Other natural remedies: You can also fix a stretched vaginal canal using natural douches that restore suppleness and stamina.

Personally, I attempted numerous combinations of these organic herbs, and really felt that they made me feel healthier and cleaner down in my lady-bits. While I felt they did a lot for my overall health. I didn’t really feel any tighter.

The verdict: I really liked the natural health benefits, yet did not really feel organic remedies solved my issue of loosened vag wall surfaces.

# 2 – Kegel Exercises for Strengthening and Toning

A natural method which is popular to get a super tight vagina involves Kegel workouts. Here’s how they work.

You execute these vaginal canal exercises by squeezing your internal pelvic muscles. Think of how it feels when you stop yourself from peeing. These are the same muscles you use to do Kegels. Try it out next time you’re using the restroom.

As soon as you have learned how to do this, just repeat this exercise numerous times throughout the day. You can do this inconspicuously and at your leisure. No one even needs to know that you are working to tighten up a loose vaginal area!

Do Kegel Exercises Really Work?

Yes, kegel exercises have been proven to work, and many women who have worked out their vagina muscles using this technique have reported to have seen a significant difference in the tightness of their fanny’s. With this being said, you don’t see results overnight by doing your kegel workouts, and it can take weeks even months to see some kind of effect. However, once you are in the habit of doing your daily or weekly kegel routine, you win in the long run, because it tightens your muscles not only for the pleasure of sex, and boosting your confidence, but it is also a great way to have good control over your bladder, and for women this becomes a huge issue particularly as you get older.

In my experience, if you do them with over time consistently, kegel workouts actually do work well! You need to do it several times a day for 8-10 weeks (which is easy because they’re so discreet). This will also strengthen your pelvic muscles, which consequently, will also strengthen your vaginal walls.

So, now I know that kegel exercises do work over time, I was anxious to attempt something else that would get me results much faster, and also last much longer. This is why these vag workouts are my second choice for natural and effective tightening treatments.

# 1 – V-tight gel + Vagina Tightening Program

V tight gel is a treatment cream which claims to fix vag looseness by tightening the skin around the vaginal walls. It also works as a lubricant for before you have sex which is quite handy because women are using this product right before they have sex with their partners which is the right thing to do as well as the most effective to make use of the product.

It’s advertised by the manufacturer to work both by itself, or with faster results in fixing an flappy vag if you use it together with the V-tight exercise program. Almost any natural product is great by itself but if you combine it with hard-work or exercise then you have a much more powerful tool in your disposal. This is exactly what the V-tight gel program offers, a way out of your flappy and loose vaginal problems.

According to the manufacturer, v-tight functions within a few minutes to make your vaginal area tighter after applying the cream. The product also says you can make love with your partner after just a couple of minutes of using the gel.

There are many vaginal tightening creams and medications on the market, but lots of women are afraid to use them because they’re scared of side effects. This is where V-tight Gel is different from all the other creams out there. It is totally natural and does not cause any known side effects. So, if you are looking for a way to tighten your vagina overnight, then your answer is right here. Actually, that’s not true, because this product works within minutes. You don’t need to wait at all because the magic happens as soon as you put in the cream.

Of course, like anything, there are good things and bad things (mostly good things) about this product. So, I created a complete review telling you what I liked about V-tight gel, and what I really didn’t like.

To put it rather simply, it’s an astounding ‘yes’.

It is no secret that men prefer younger and tighter women during sex. While it’s shallow as hell, it’s the truth. This isn’t actually about her age, it’s more about how tight she feels during sex. The tightness of the vagina plays a very important role in bringing two people closer, not only physically but also emotionally. At the end of the day, most men will succumb to their animal instincts and that is to procreate. There is no going around it, they were built that way and will be for as long as they live.

When a man and a woman have sex, it is obviously one of the closest and most vulnerable time for both parties involved. They both experience the pleasure that an intense orgasm can bring. When a woman’s vagina is tight, the man can feel the woman’s vagina walls contracting against his penis, and the woman can feel the penis contours (which feels amazing of course). As many experts agree, the act of sexual intercourse and orgasms are so much more powerful when a couple feels closer, and this is made even better when a woman has a tight vagina.

Orgasms are caused by the rubbing or the contact between the sensitive areas of the vagina and the penis. The more stimulation there is, the more intense the sensations are, therefore having a tight vagina will help you and your partner experience a close encounter both physically and emotionally. The more fun you and your partner have in the bedroom, the more of a bond you will form in your relationship as well. Experts say that couples who have amazing sex in the bedroom also have better communication, trust and an overall happier relationship.

Couples who have trouble with intimacy tend to have deeper issues in the relationship. A lot of people tend to shrug off the importance of sex in a relationship, but we don’t think that’s the case. Not even close! So, it’s time to bring back the sexy times and enjoy sex again!

One of the best ways to bring this intimacy back is to feel sexy and attractive. When women feel attractive, they are much more likely to engage in sexual intercourse. Having a smaller vagina can help you feel more comfortable with your body. When there’s more intimacy and a woman feels sexy, it makes relationships much more connected. Those long drawn out fights over the laundry become quick and easy conversations when there’s plenty of sex. (You know what we’re talking about!)

Let’s take a look at the ingredients.

It’s important to know what you’re putting in your body. V Tight is an all-natural tightening lotion that is made primarily from Manjakani essence, Witch Hazel leaf extract, various kinds of natural minerals, and water. All these have actually been used by women in Oriental countries for centuries.

Another ingredient – Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana), is a bush or plant abundant in tannin and phytoestrogens material. Tannin is an important agent that can make tissues in the vaginal walls tight due to it’s astringent abilities.

The phytochemical element of tannins, as well as the phytoestrogens, are collected by extracting the shell and leaves of the Witch Hazel bush. In addition to tannin and phytoestrogen content, extract of this bush is abundant in all-natural Phenols.

Phenols are small molecules that help various biochemicals move across a cell membrane and reach the intracellular site for specific actions. This ensures that the tannins and phytoestrogens are absorbed into the cells.

Natural Phenol is rich in phytoestrogen. It causes phytoestrogens to be absorbed fast and easily by the vagina wall. Therefore, the vagina wall will stimulate production of collagen and feeling in the tissues. It makes the vaginal walls more firm, elastic, and youthful. Absorption of phenol results in estrogenic activities that maintain the strength of the vagina muscles.

Therefore, phenol tightens not only the vaginal wall, but also strengthens the vaginal muscles. Phenol also has antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial health effects protect vagina wall cells from toxicities.

It was revealed in the research regarding cancer cells that this property also fights cancer by inducing apoptosis by regulating carcinogen metabolism, arresting cell cycle, inhibiting DNA binding, and blocking signaling pathways. Natural phenol is also known to keep skin healthy. It prevents various skin disorders such as shingles and psoriasis. This is part of what makes this product so safe – since you will not experience painful burning sensations in the vagina during use.

The effect of Tannin is the major component of astringent properties. Scientists looked into the impact of Oak gall. It was originally used by Asian women after natural childbirth to recover the strength of their vagina and health. Eventually, they found a specific agent called Tannin, which is in Oak gall, that plays a role in tightening the tissues. In result, this will lead to a better and tighter vagina when you have sex.

The most important thing is that V-tight does not include any synthetic active ingredients that may cause irritation to your vaginal area. Therefore, you can see that it is a safe product to use in intimate and sensitive areas.

Arthur Schopenhauer, the greatest German philosopher, on women: Only a male intellect clouded by the sexual drive could call the stunted, narrow-shouldered, broad-hipped and short-legged sex the fair sex … More fittingly than the fair sex, women could be called the unaesthetic sex. Neither for music, nor poetry, nor the plastic arts do they possess any real feeling of receptivity: if they affect to do so, it is merely mimicry in service of their effort to please.

74 Danish research: Male testosterone levels fall after marriage

If you search for the word ‘gift’ in the Danish dictionary, you’ll come up with two meanings. The first is as an adjective indicating that an individual has entered into marriage. The second is a substance that is damaging or lethal to living organisms: a poison.

It may sound awfully familiar to some men (and ladies), and now there is scientific evidence that may shed some light on this Danish literary oddity.

Not surprisingly, men turn to testosterone boosters like butea superba.

Not so testy
A new Danish study from the city hospital Rigshospitalet has discovered that the testosterone levels of men plummet after they get married.

The research found that testosterone levels in men fell most dramatically during the period following them getting married, while the drop tended to be smallest following a period in which they went from being married to single.

“Testosterone plays a role in everything that defines a man,” Anna-Maria Andersson, the head of research at the hormone lab at Rigshospitalet’s Department for Growth and Reproduction and co-author of the study, told Videnskab.dk.

“It’s quite amusing and it’s a good picture of how much our hormones are impacted by how we live. The body acclimatises to the situation we find ourselves in.”

Ode to oxytocin
It is yet unknown what leads to the drop in testosterone from a biological standpoint, but one hypothesis is that the hormone oxytocin, which is released during loving caresses and extended eye contact, plays a role.

The hypothesis is that married men release more oxytocin than single men, and that impacts the levels of testosterone.

“It’s speculation and we haven’t had the possibility to measure the oxytocin levels in this study, but it makes sense that it can play a part when looking at it from an evolutionary perspective,” said Andersson.

“It is of course necessary for the man to defend his wife and children, so you still need testosterone. But it is also necessary to modify your behaviour towards those you need to protect, and it’s important to relate to your family and create social bonds.”

Another concept is that the testosterone levels of men change because they are exposed to female pheromones when living with their wives.

Andersson said that for now the research would stand as an observation – one that many men and women are perhaps already aware of.

Is there a torture manual?

KUBARK Manual: A User's Guide to Torture?

The 1950s appear to have been a time when the CIA put a tremendous amount of energy into perfecting the science of torture. The CIA conducted covert experiments, at times on unsuspecting Americans, using LSD in the search of a “truth serum” [source: The New York Times]. It used electrical currents to inflict pain [source: The Boston Globe]. The agency conducted trials investigating the effects of sensory deprivation [source: The Washington Post]. The CIA found that the best methods for extracting information from detainees come not through the infliction of physical pain or torture, but through psychological torture.

Although the brand of torture the CIA devised through more than a decade of trial and error may not inflict physical pain, it can still do some real damage. Historian and expert on the subject of the CIA and torture, Alfred McCoy, writes, “Although seemingly less brutal, no-touch torture leaves deep psychological scars. The victims often need treatment to recover from trauma far more crippling than physical pain”.

There is indeed a torture manual and the CIA literally wrote it. In 1963, the Agency created the KUBARK Counterintelligence Interrogation manual. It was, as Alfred McCoy puts it, the “codification” of everything the CIA had learned from its experiments throughout the 50s. In the KUBARK (the codename for the CIA in the Vietnam War [source: The Washington Post]) manual, methods for breaking detainees are based generally on psychology. Identifying a victim’s sense of self and then stripping it away is part of the first step toward breaking him or her. An introverted or shy detainee might be kept naked and perhaps sexually humiliated, for example. Clothes may also be taken simply to alienate the detainee and make him or her less comfortable.

Creating a sense of unfamiliarity, disorientation and isolation seems to be the hallmarks of psychologically undermining a detainee in the purview of the KUBARK manual. Practices like starvation, keeping inmates in small, windowless cells with unchanging artificial light and forcing inmates to sit or stand in uncomfortable positions (stress positions) for long periods of time have been decried or banned outright by the United States government. Yet these techniques are part of the regimen prescribed by KUBARK. So, too, are using hypnosis and drugs to extract information.

While it doesn’t mention electric shock directly, the manual calls for interrogators to be sure that a potential safe house to be used for torture has access to electricity. As one source told The Baltimore Sun, “The CIA has acknowledged privately and informally in the past that this referred to the application of electric shocks to interrogation suspects” [source: The Baltimore Sun].

Physical pain, however, is ultimately deemed counterproductive by the manual. It’s a much worse experience, the guidebook concludes, for an inmate to fear that pain may be coming than to actually experience it. The old adage that anticipation is worse than the experience appears to also have a basis in the shadowy field of torture.

A newer book, largely a revision of the KUBARK manual, draws the same foundational conclusion -- that psychological torment is paramount to physical abuse. The Human Resource Exploitation Manual -- 1983 was first publicized as the result of an investigative report into the human rights abuses in Honduras.

Climate change will stir 'unimaginable' refugee crisis, says military

Climate change is set to cause a refugee crisis of “unimaginable scale”, according to senior military figures, who warn that global warming is the greatest security threat of the 21st century and that mass migration will become the “new normal”.

The generals said the impacts of climate change were already factors in the conflicts driving a current crisis of migration into Europe, having been linked to the Arab Spring, the war in Syria and the Boko Haram terrorist insurgency.

Military leaders have long warned that global warming could multiply and accelerate security threats around the world by provoking conflicts and migration. They are now warning that immediate action is required.

“Climate change is the greatest security threat of the 21st century,” said Maj Gen Munir Muniruzzaman, chairman of the Global Military Advisory Council on climate change and a former military adviser to the president of Bangladesh. He said one metre of sea level rise will flood 20% of his nation. “We’re going to see refugee problems on an unimaginable scale, potentially above 30 million people.”

Previously, Bangladesh’s finance minister, Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, called on Britain and other wealthy countries to accept millions of displaced people.

Brig Gen Stephen Cheney, a member of the US Department of State’s foreign affairs policy board and CEO of the American Security Project, said: “Climate change could lead to a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions. We’re already seeing migration of large numbers of people around the world because of food scarcity, water insecurity and extreme weather, and this is set to become the new normal.

“Climate change impacts are also acting as an accelerant of instability in parts of the world on Europe’s doorstep, including the Middle East and Africa,” Cheney said. “There are direct links to climate change in the Arab Spring, the war in Syria, and the Boko Haram terrorist insurgency in sub-Saharan Africa.”

After Donald Trump, who has called climate change a hoax, won the US presidential election in November, Cheney said he expected senior military officials to impress upon Trump the grave threat posed to national security by global warming. “I’ve got to believe there are enough folks on the national security side that we can make a dent in this.”

R Adm Neil Morisetti, a former commander of the UK maritime forces and the UK’s climate and energy security envoy, said: “Climate change is a strategic security threat that sits alongside others like terrorism and state-on-state conflict, but it also interacts with these threats. It is complex and challenging; this is not a concern for tomorrow, the impacts are playing out today.”

Morisetti said climate change would mean the UK military will be deployed more often to conflict and disaster zones. The military leaders were speaking ahead of an event in London on Thursday.

In September, a coalition of 25 US military and national security experts, including former advisers to Ronald Reagan and George W Bush, warned that climate change poses a “significant risk to US national security and international security” that requires more attention from the US federal government.

In 2015, a UK foreign office report made a stark assessment of the dangers posed by unchecked global warming, including very large risks to global food security, increased risk of terrorism as states fail, and unprecedented migration that would overwhelm international assistance.

“Countries are going to pay for climate change one way or another,” said Cheney. “The best way to pay for it is by tackling the root causes of climate change and cutting greenhouse gas emissions. If we do not, the national security impacts will be increasingly costly and challenging.”

World ABS is a scam. They purchased 1:200 tongkat ali extract from Sumatra Pasak Bumi many years ago, and then the owner, Ryan Davies, switched to a cheap substitute to maximize his profits. But he continues to suggest that he is a reseller of Sumatra Pasak Bumi products, even using Sumatra Pasak Bumi lab certificates. But what he sells certainly isn't 1:200 extract, and may not even be tongkat ali at all. Many scammers with absolutely no access to tongkat ali just sell tribulus terrestris powder.

Surgeon claims simple injection can increase size of penis by 2 inches

DECCAN CHRONICLE

Mar 22, 2017, 4:55 pm

The procedure only takes 10 minutes and the only precaution needed is skipping sex for few days.

As discussions about sex increase, age old beliefs about intercourse, orgasm and satisfaction in bed are being talked about more. One of the most highly debated concepts is the difference caused by the size of a man’s penis to the overall experience.

But this doesn’t stop a lot of men from seeking to increase the size of their penis, and they employ various techniques from diet to devices and even potentially harmful measures. In this situation, a surgeon has stepped in to introduce a new method which can increase the size of a man’s member by two inches in circumference.

All it takes is a simple injection and a procedure that lasts only for 10 minutes. There’s not even need for a recovery period, as people can just get back to work after the process. The idea is to draw blood from a person’s body and inject it into their penis to increase size.

The only precaution to be taken after this is not having sex for few days, and this procedure was inspired by Botox as well as a treatment used in sports where muscles are revived by injecting a person’s blood back in their own body.

So as long as the girth of the penis goes, this simple new procedure seems to be a major boost.
